Thursday - October 7, 2004 The shots from Barber and Deal's Gap 9/24-26 are online. We didn't get any shots from the Gap last weekend. Keith came up from 2 hours away and said it was completely dead both mornings, wet Saturday and foggy Sunday so he didn't stick around. Appearantly quite a few showed up later in the day. The weather is getting cooler and the leaves are starting to change. Our window of comfortable riding is getting smaller each day. We had a pretty good time at Barber last weekend. Saturday was a crash-fest, but no one was seriously injured. They have repaved the track for the 3rd time, and I'm sorry to report it is worse than before. There has been some patchwork at the bottom of the roller coaster section, and several sections of the track are wavy and make you think your tires are out of balance. They are repaving it this winter. Highlights! The famous Barber Spiders...they're BIG - Gap local Greg got some BITCHIN' video footage. CycleAngel Mary - Cycle World, Rider, and Roadbike magazines were there. Mark shows his Novice riders the proper line - Steve looks pretty good for a Novice rider |
