Thursday - August 5, 2004 I remember when I used to update on Mondays. Monday we attended STT's first trackday at Road Atlanta. The photos are in the store here. The corner workers couldn't believe the attendance for a Monday trackday...just goes to show the power of a good deal with a good organization. That track is the scariest I've ridden yet...we still have full course VIR to check out in a couple of weeks, but Road Atlanta is so fast...and tricky...and rough...and slick...I have a lot more respect for those AMA guys that really go balls out on that one. We may be getting in to shoot the AMA races there next month thanks to the fact that our buddy Neale Bayly is doing an article on the event. Tuesday we hit Six Flags and I learned my girlfriend has bigger balls than I do. She saw the tallest object in the park and wanted to ride THAT. It's basically a 100+ foot arch with nearby towers just as tall, and you hang from a couple of cables in the arch. You are then lifted, slowly, to the top of the nearby tower, and released to freefall for a second then swing through the arch at 50+ mph...skimming right across the ground suspended only by a small body harness. Well she wanted someone to go with her, and Keith and I both looked at each other and said "hell no". I ended bribing Keith's girlfriend to go up with Lori. She finally agreed and well...it was worth the money...I've never heard profanities screamed so loudly. This weekend is look sweet weather-wise. Some cold front is coming through Friday which should produce record lows. This means highs in the 70's and clear weather in the forcast. A few track shots to give perspective Rider's Meeting - The girls of STT: Zee, Lori, Julie, Charity Interesting colors on the MV Augusta F4 and the Icon helmet. Please note our passing limit is 6 feet, not 6 inches. ;) There were a few accidents...nothing major. I put in a few laps on Ron & Nancy's Tuono. Check that shiney track! - CCS racer chick Sarah came out to hone her craft. AMA racer Ted Cobb put a hurtin' on the sportbikes with his Motard. Cool reflection - Pretty face That's it for this one. Hope to see some of you out there this weekend! |
