Today's hi-res sample is my friend Joey rippin it up smooth like on his BMW.

Well the end is nigh. It's early January, and it has been in the mid 60s for the past 3 days.

Not that I'm complaining.

I guess everyone had to go back to work Friday. It was beautiful and warm, and I had the whole road to myself. Ron and Nancy came out for a bit, and there were a couple of corvettes along with a WRX and Mini Cooper I played with for one run, but that was it. Saturday was about the same. The road was patchy damp, but only a handful of bikes and a couple of cars. Locals Ian and David brought out their dirtbikes, as did Ron and Nancy.

My dawg had a good Christmas...

...as did I. For New Year's, Jacob, Noah and Mark came over and we watched TV. (woohoo!) The Twins, Jacob and Noah, are ramping up their sportbike accessory endeavor, One-Eleven Sportbike. They brought over the custom exhaust they made for me, and helped me install the frame sliders they made.

If you'd like some heavy-duty frame sliders with replaceable caps, swingarm spools, or even a custom exhaust for your sportbike, you can contact the twins by phone at 931-537-3559, or email them here.

There are a few other boring pictures in my little Imagestation photo album here.

It's nice and warm out, and I'm about to go out riding, but I just wanted to let you folks know the road conditions in case you wanted to get out and ride. There is no salt on the Gap, but there are a couple of wet areas that kinda stay wet this time of year, since the sun doesn't get high enough to shine on them.

I got out and rode yesterday and there were quite a few people out riding and driving. More to come...

Turn 1.

Today's free hi-res photo is the result of a head-on crash at the Gap earlier this year. Both riders walked away fine.

Weather was pretty nice last weekend, and I met up with locals Ben, Zee, Greg, Phil and David Sunday to make a few passes. Road was a little cold, but mostly clean and dry.

By now I guess many riders have prepped their bike for the winter. Don't forget to clean the bugs off your helmet as well. Those little critters have acids and enzymes in thier guts for breaking down what they eat, just like us, and those acids can damage the surface. Also be aware that amonia-based cleaners like Windex can break down polycarbonate plastic, which is what most visors are made of. You can use all those fancy/expensive cleaners you want, I use soap and water...with the occasional coating of Rain-X. =)

A few games to keep you busy.

Harley on Mt. Everest?

Merdy New Year!

You want pictures?  My boy Jimmie over at Gear Up Motorsports in Knoxville sent me a link to this forum thread. Thanks!

"bereft of clue" Excellent writing!

And this...uh..."poem" was spit up by Noah:
(to the tune of "Baby Got Back")

I like Deal's Gap and I cannot lie
You other riders can't deny
When a curve's in ya face
and ya late on the breaks
You get SCARED!
Cause your tires are startin' to slide
And you know you're gonna run it wide
So you stand it up straight
And pray for your fate
But fate wont help yo pride... boyeee!
